Statistics
Statistics define your character's capabilities and represent those parts of your character that have a mechanical effect upon the game. This game has six Statistics: Strength, Resilience, Dexterity, Quickness, Education and Willpower. They are used to determine things like how much a character knows about a subject or how well a character can pick a lock.
Note that there is no intelligence or social Stat. You'll have to figure out puzzles and make friends (or enemies) by yourself.
The average character's Stat will be in a range from 8-12. The highest a Statistic can be is 20. Mundanes tend to have Stat in the range of 6-10 with a maximum of 15. The minimum statistic for a character is 5 (3 for a mundane.) Anything less than 3 means that a person cannot function.
Strength
This represents your character's raw physical power. Strength is important when lifting, throwing, or using brute physical force against someone else. This Statistic determines the type of weapons a character can use as well as their ability with certain combat maneuvers.
Resilience
This represents your character's ability to resist damage and maintain prolonged physical activity. Resilience is important where the main difficulty of a physical skill is maintaining activity for a long period of time. It also determines the amount of damage a character can take before they are dying, as well as their resistance to toxins, and disease.
Dexterity
This represents your character's fine motor skills. Dexterity is important for skills dependent on exact manipulation, such as most cases when creating something by hand. This Statistic determines the character's ability with certain maneuvers in combat.
Quickness
This represents how fast your character is. Quickness is important for skills where doing so with speed is important. This Statistics determines who goes first in combat.
Education
This represents a character's formal educational training. Education is important for academic skills and the knowledge component of many skills. This Statistic has no combat application. Note that this is not how intelligent a character is.
Willpower
This represents a character's ability to push on past physical limits. Willpower is important for resisting external mental and psychological effects. This Statistic allows a character to keep fighting for longer in combat.
Costs
All player characters automatically have a 5 in every stat. Each level beyond that costs experience points as specified in the table below. (The score at each level indicates the number of points required to buy that level for a character who already has the level immediately below. For instance, if a character has a 7, going to a 10 costs a total of 13 points.)
