Somerset

William Somerset
A young member of house Somerset. His older brother was Charles Somerset II, who died heroicly during the Battle of Willow Park. He was the sole survivor of a bandit attack on a city garrison.

Back

Angleterre

Louis Angleterre
The former Minister of Finance and brother of Lord Angleterre. He was widely criticized for his performance, and shortly after Commons held a vote of no confidence, he resigned, officially to spend more time with his family.

Girard Whit
Hailing from Seattle, Girard married into the Angleterre family in the early 60's. He met his wife, Jeanette Angeleterre, on one of her rather famous explorations and they traveled together quite often since then. After their third child they moved on to a less dangerous lifestyle. Jeanette has been an ambassador for the House in the western states, though she has recently retired and is helping in the care of her grandchildren. Girard became a trainer for the House and also led recreational groups in spelunking trips. Since the war, Girard's oldest two children have taken over both of these. Girard has many friends among the commoner factions, most notably with the members of Micah's Question. He is often used as a reference when a member of the family wishes to go on their first expedition with that faction.
In the Moonlit War Girard, Jeanette, and their three children all served. Their youngest daughter served with the most distinction but all served the House well. In an early battle Girard was injured and later learned that he was infected with lycanthropy. Lately Girard has retreated from the public and spent more time with his family.

Shawnee

John Askuwheteau, Lord Waapake
Mr. Askuwheteau has served as the Shawnee representative for almost a decade. He might be the staunchest tradtionalist in the Chamber of Lords and is most often the vocal opponent of all the bills put forth by the Chamber of Commons. He is notorious for refusing to attend the social gatherings that even the rest of the members of the Chamber of Lords consider an obligation.

Back

Coalition of Tradesmen

Simon Mathers, President of the Coalition of Tradesmen
Simon is the newest member of the Chamber of Lords, having taken the oath of office only two years before the war started. He is easily the most approachable member of the nobles and during the war was always the first to let the commoners know what was going on within the Chamber of Lords.

Theodore Cunningham, Lords' Magistrate
Magistrate Cunningham has been on the court for seven years. While he is known for being a hardliner, early accusations that he would always serve the Chamber of Lords have proven unfounded.

Back

Steel Barons

Frank Addler, Head of Public Relations for the Steel Barons
Mr. Addler has served as the Head of Public Relations for the Steel Barons since before the war. Not the most approachable of the representatives, he rarely puts forth his own motions and rarer still are the times he opposes a motion. His knack, which prevents anyone from saying anything bad about him in his presence, is well known.

Back

House Enfield

Lavender Scott Enfield
Lavender Scott took over as duelist when his predecessor was sent off on a mission. As Lord Enfield's last born (1981), he is also Hesper's uncle, though only her senior by a few years. Like many in the House, he seems to prefer telepathy over oral speech. It hasn't led him to be antisocial beyond his faction; he frequents bars and gambling pits and consorts with people across social divides, with whom he parties and uses drugs. He is, however, not above slighting those below a certain class and occasionally quite offensively expressive towards those who aren't. He manages this while keeping House Enfield's best interests in mind, as he has been pulling double duty also as the rep ever since his arrival into the Chamber of Commons. Lavender Scott Enfield is more often known by his middle name alone.

Hesper Enfield
The only daughter of Gregory Shane Enfield and heir apparent of House Enfield, Hesper was born in 1985. She was always a studious and formal girl, as the likely candidate for the new Lady Enfield, her upbringing was even more geared towards politics than usual. She is generally amiable and has a pleasant demeanor, though she rarely speaks, her contact with people outside of the house being fairly limited. When she began her courtship with Arthur four months ago, she entered into it as though it were a necessary evil of being a member of the house, but since then she has warmed up to the idea of their engagement. She now seems to treat him as a confidant, but the two of them keep enough subconscious distance that it is unlikely that they are really in love. For the past couple of weeks she has spent most of her time with Arthur preparing for the announcement of their engagement and has begun making more and more public appearances. Despite her young age she seems eager and willing to step into the position of Lady Enfield and in an attempt to further cement political alliances, insists that prominent members of allied factions (particularly House Donnelly and House Bergmann) be invited to the engagement ceremony.

Arthur Enfield
The second cousin of Hesper, Arthur is her senior by two years. During the war he fought in one of the units created to replace the casualties towards the end of the war. While his combat record is not as impressive as some others, during his short military career he fought with honor and pride and still returned home a hero. Shortly after the war ended, he was approached by Lord Enfield and it was suggested that he would make a strong husband for Hesper. Knowing the importance of such a request, Arthur quickly agreed. He approached the courtship period as simply another mission, but is aware of Hesper's position in the family and therefore tends to follow her lead in matters regarding the relationship. He is a rather stoic, if unobtrusive, presence by Hesper's side. While he initially seemed more of a bodyguard than a fiance, their time spent preparing for the engagement has clearly brought them closer together.

Businessman's Club

Vincent Gianetti, Steward of the Chamber of Commons
Vincent has served the Chamber of Commons as its Steward for over a decade. No one knows exactly why he left his old job as one of the best bodyguards in the Businessmen's Club to become a glorified clerk. It's well known is that he once took a bullet for one of the top members of the Businessmen's Club back in the day when that meant something. It's not so well known whether or not he really fell through the cracks while in a shoot with Frank Nitti or that he shook the cops when Patriarca and his men got nabbed. He has unusually red eyes.

Bobby Avente, Duelist
Well known for his gambling habit he also throws some of the best parties in the club, which is saying something. Bobby distinguished himself very well during the war and rode his honors to a respectable position within his faction. He was recruited from the grim at a young age because of his uncanny eyesight and because of a little bit of a debt to one of the bosses in the club.

Back

Speakeasy

Nicholas Schenk
"Schenk" is one of the most influential drug dealers in the Speakeasy. He's generally believed to control almost all of the market for mundane drugs in New Dunston, along with the meth lab which produces almost all the meth sold in both New Dunston and Pittsburgh.

Back

Smiths

Abdul Rahman, Smiths Representative
Mr. Rahman is the head of the Smiths Seat of Protection, one of the three divisions of that faction. He is generally credited with being responsible for the Smiths trend towards more magical and less technological devices in the last twenty years. He was appointed the faction representative when his predecessor, Christopher Delgado, was abruptly removed. Many know that he is a djinn, and has a knack for learning a language from hearing only a small amount of of it.

Christopher Delgado
The Smith's representative has changed repeatedly recently, as the post has been passed around the three branches of the faction, but Christopher Delgado is the one who has held it most frequently over the last few years. While he didn't serve in the war personally, he was quite busy building and especially shipping weapons. During the war, several units, briefly trapped behind enemy lines, were able to make it back in part thanks to Christopher smuggling a shipment of armaments to them. Christopher fell through the cracks as a child, and was raised by the Hospital's orphanage before eventually being apprenticed to the Smiths. He's one of the few representatives to reliably vote against the wishes of the Chamber of Lords.

AMMA

George A. Borden, Minister of Defense
General George A. Borden is possibly the greatest military leader the city has ever known and most people attribute the city's victory to his elevation to the Ministry of Defense shortly after the Lycaons invaded New Dunston. Nominally a member of the AMMA, his time has been entirely consumed by his official duties since his appointment. Since the end of the war, the General has been at the forefront of the reconstruction efforts even calling for yet further sacrifices in the name of public safety. He has become increasingly controversial; shortly after the Chamber of Lords blocked a demand by the Chamber of Commons to investigate him, the Minister arrested a reporter who was about to publish a report on him. The reporter died before he could be tried when the fort he was being held in was attacked by bandits.

Esther Livovich, Duelist
Esther, more commonly known as Es, grew up in the praetermundus as a member of the Slatterys and ran away at an early age. She tried to make it as a stage magician in the grim, but was mostly relegated to the role of stage assistant. After a decade of traveling and learning the secret of several of the greatest magicians, she returned to New Dunston and joined the AMMA. Es served as a soldier during the war and served quite well. After an injury late in the war she continued service in hiding the war from the grim. Es is an avid supporter of General Borden and supports the need for the Chamber of Lords to do what is necessary for the safety of the city. As a duelist she is well known for her almost supernatural ability to escape from anything. Her ability to hold her breath for extreme amounts of time despite having no knack associated with such tests is also considered remarkable.

Order of the Silver Oak

Chaulaine White, Order of the Silver Oak Representative
Chaulaine has been the representative for the Order for a little over a year. Although not a veteran, he apparently worked directly for General Borden during the war.

Micah's Question

Keepers of the Lost

Hector Quinn, Keepers of the Lost Representative
Hector is the head of acquisitions for the Keepers of the Lost and was named as their first representative to the Chamber of Commons when the faction purchased its seat. He was imprisoned for several weeks by Rick Downs, who impersonated him during that time. He is known to have a knack for identifying items which will be useful for making deals in the future.

Back

Monastery

Aaron Schmidt, At Large Magistrate Magistrate Schmidt has served the court for longer than many citizens have been alive. He is well known for his fair and unbiased opinions and has even left his original faction, the Post Office, to remove any appearance of impropriety. He is currently a member of the Monastery. The position of at large Magistrate is chosen by popular vote annually.

Others Active in the City

Samuel, Envoy
This creature, seemingly made of stone, has visited several Chamber of Commons meetings, including once standing stationary in the building for two weeks between meetings.

Joseph Richardson, Representative of the Secret Police
Mr. Richardson showed up for the first time fifteen years ago claiming to be the new representative of the Secret Police. When he survived until the next meeting, he was taken at his word. Mr. Richardson is known for having a less confrontational demeanor than his predecessor, but is just as feared. His only known interaction with other residents of the city is his occasional appearance at public gatherings to request funding or other policy changes on behalf of the Secret Police.

Past Visitors

Justin Joyce, Traveling Merchant
Joyce has been traveling a route from the coasts that has happened to pass through New Dunston for over a decade. He often has many minor relics as well as a plethora of magical materials in stock. Having traded in New Dunston in the past, he respects the prohibition on selling certain materials which are under a legal monopoly.

Mark Strider, Nomadic Monster Hunter
Mark is a traveling monster hunter who passed through the city recently. He was given a license to hunt manticore within the city.
