Simulations of Vanishing Capillarity Limits for Kohn-Müller and Aviles-Giga Type Models

Abstract: We present some simulations which demonstrate the dynamics of two dimensional viscoelastic scalar models with a high order capillarity term and a non-convex strain energy term. We use these models to determine scaling behavior for the vanishing capillarity limit for static models which have previously been studied by among others Kohn and Müller and by Aviles and Giga.
