Ground Transportation Options from Pittsburgh International Airport
Three venues of transportation:
1. Port Authority 28X Airport Shuttle (public bus
transportation)

The one-way fare is $2.25 (exact change required). No advance reservations are required. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes, 7 days a week. It departs from the ground floor of the airport next to the USAir baggage claim area. As soon as you exit the terminal, you will see a sign for the 28X. Allow 45 minutes to an hour for travel time.
Departing the Airport for Oakland where CMU is located:
Weekday service begins at 5:43 am and runs through 12:08 am.
Saturday, Sunday, and holiday service begins at 6:13 am and runs
through 12:08 am.
If you are Staying at the Wyndham Garden Hotel:
- You can request drop-off at the Wyndham Garden Hotel (corner of Forbes Avenue at McKee Place), which is a few steps away from the hotel.
- Service begins at 5:00 am and runs through 10:45 pm.
- From the Wyndham Garden Hotel: Pick-up is on the corner of Fifth Avenue at Atwood Street.
- A reservation must be made to return to the airport. Please allow 15-20 minutes for pickup. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- No advance reservations are required from the Airport.
- Pick-up is by the USAir baggage claim area on the ground floor of the airport. Before boarding the shuttle, you must purchase tickets in the terminal behind the information desk.
- Please note that advance reservations are required from the Wyndham.
- Pick-up is in hotel lobby.
- Sunday and Weekday service runs hourly from 6:00 am through 7:00 pm.
- Saturday service runs hourly from 6:00 am through 6:00 pm.
- Sunday and weekday service runs every half hour from 7:00 am through 11:30 pm.
- Saturday service runs every half hour from 7:00 am through 9:00 pm.
Departing Wyndham Garden for the Airport:
2. Taxi (Yellow Cab 412-321-8100)
Taxis will drive you between the airport and either Carnegie Mellon
University
or your hotel, the Wyndham Garden (Forbes Avenue at McKee Place). The one-way
fare is approximately $50.00 dollars plus tip.
Departing Oakland to the Airport:
3. Express Shuttle USA (412-472-3180)
Airlines Transportation Company
provides a shuttle service to and from the airport to the Wyndham Garden
Hotel in Oakland. The fare is $24.00 one-way and $42.00 round-trip. Allow
45 minutes to an hour for travel time.
