Abstract

Motivated by a question concerning an estimate for the topological degree suggested by H. Brezis and some recent results of J. Bourgain, H. Brezis, P. Mironescu on Sobolev's spaces, we study some new characterizations of Sobolev spaces. We will also mention some generalizations of Sobolev's embedding and Rellich-Kondrachov's theorem arising in this context.
