Abstract

In this talk, we discuss the use of Bloch waves in homogenization problems. Special attention will be paid to the problem of homogenization of periodic structures interacting with a potential. One way of dealing with it is to invoke the so-called factorization principle.In this talk, we focus on situations where this principle is not applicable.
