"Some remarks on the analyticity of minimizers of free-discontinuity problems"

Abstract

The regularity properties of minimizers of free-discontinuity problems have been widely investigated in recent years, especially in connection with the so-called Mumford-Shah Conjecture. In this talk I will present the results of a joint paper with G.Leoni where we show that in the dimension two the regular part of the discontinuity set of a local minimizer of the homogeneous Mumford-Shah functional is analytic with the exception of at most countably many isolated points.
