Yue Pu Carnegie Mellon University Title: Holomorphic Representation of 2D Infinite Depth Water Wave Equation Abstract: Although the ultimate goal is to handle a PDE, majority of the talk will be harmonic analysis on 2D plane. We will focus on the boundary value on the real line of a function that is holomorphic on the half plane, or the trace of holomorphic functions, and then scrutinize the relation between real part and imaginary part of the trace. After developing this tool, we will be able to rewrite water wave equation in terms of holomorphic functions. Only some complex analysis and measure theory knowledge is assumed in this talk.
