Shaun Allison

Research

I am a fifth-year graduate student advised by Clinton Conley. I am interested in descriptive set theory, particlarly in the Borel reducibility hierarchy of definable equivalence relations. I like to apply ideas from model theory, such as the Scott analysis of countable structures, to actions of Polish groups. I also have a particular interest in using effective arguments, such as the Gandy-Harrington topology and its variants, to prove dichotomy results.
