Carl's New Home Page
New: Check out my USAMO page!
It now includes the names of the 1997 IMO team members and alternates as
well as solutions. A list of MOPpers probably will not be there for awhile.
New: I am on the 1997 USA Today
All-America Academic First Team and was in Washington on May 8-9. This
and some other things kept me from updating my page and doing other things
for awhile. I was in USA Today on May 8. It was pretty amazing to me.
Well, on March 23, near the end of spring break,
I finally decided to start to put up a real home page (you can laugh at
my old one here).
This page is small, but will be growing soon. I plan a discussion page
for 96-97 math contests sometime. It will have to wait until at least a
few days after the USAMO. My
brother tells me I can put up a real-time Java chat applet; I may be
doing that so that everyone with web access can discuss the results of
the USAMO on May 1. I may also put up a page on where the class of 1997
MOPpers (Math Olympiad Program participants) will be going to college,
so if anyone wants to email me this info, I can start a page.
April 23: I am going to . . . Harvard!
The USAMO is very soon -- on May 1. I will be graduating on May 18 ...
there isn't much left for me to do here. Eventually this web page will
be moved to Harvard somewhere and updated a lot. Well, I should do some
math practice.
April 5: I have been accepted to all of the colleges
I applied to (in alphabetical order): Duke,
Harvard, Kansas
State, MIT, Princeton,
Stanford, and Washington
University in St. Louis. I still don't know where I'll end up next
fall. GGAA!!
March 23: Spring Break is ending here. I now
have less than two months until graduation. The AHSME,
the APMO,
and the AIME have
taken place. For more information about these competitions, including
solutions, see the official AMC page;
for more results and solutions, see John Clyde's math
page.
Some links (these are all related to math contests right now and haven't
been updated for awhile; GGAA!!):
