Hey, Dan...

So, there's actually five parties involved in this whole shebang.

What this DST appointment situation is is simply Jon doing the best with the cards he's been dealt. The rules require reports, and if those reports aren't written the Camarilla council can wipe out our characters, venues, or even the entire domain.

So I see this playing out as follows:

  1. The council decides on the issue before any drastic action has to be taken. At which point everyone's going to have to figure out how to react to that decision, because I'm not about to secondguess what they're going to come up with. At this point, I'd say it's a toss up.
  2. We stick to the proverbial guns, don't elect a new DST, move into black, and see what the council decides to do with the domain. Once again, an uncertain outcome.
  3. We stick to our guns, accept a temporary appointee, and wait for the council decision. Once again, uncertainty, *plus* the ST in charge of the domain is not one of our choosing.
  4. We chose to accept an appointee, but move ahead with an election. For a short amount of time the controlling ST won't be one of our choosing, but we're back in control of our own destiny sooner rather than later.
  5. We choose to not accept an appointee, but actually move ahead with an election and actually elect someone. We remain in charge of our own domain.
The issue has already grown to such a proportion that a definitive resolution has to be reached- in other words, it cannot be "swept under the carpet and made to go away" because there's too much at stake; There's too many people paying attention. Given that, and the fact that the council is already discussing Patton's and Strauss' removal, *AND* we have several amazingly detail oriented bulldogs arguing our case (hats off to henry), I see no reason not to go into elections. Frankly, if we continue down this path of steadfast resolve, the only thing we're doing is giving someone else control over the future of our domain.

And really, who do you trust more on average? The people in this domain, or the Council?
