Ladies and gentlemen,

It is our duty to announce that None of the Above has won the election for Domain Storyteller for Pittsburgh, 11-9. This has certain implications and will produce follow-on effects.

First, a new election must be organized. This email is the call letter for applicants for Domain Storyteller. Pursuant to the timeline listed in the Membership Handbook, this call for applicants will last for just over two weeks, until 11:59 PM Eastern time on the 12th of August. All applications must be received by that time. Sameer Yalamanchi and Brian Buffalini are not eligible for the next election, based on the choice of None of the Above in the concluded election.

The timeline for the election is currently planned to be:
Applications (2 weeks, until 12 Aug)
Screening (1 week, until 19 Aug)
Discussion (1 week, until 26 Aug)
Voting (2 weeks, until 9 September)

The RST is willing to adjust that timeline; however, one thing to take into consideration is the status of the Domain.

Currently, the Domain is in Yellow Status, and is nearing Red Status for failure to report on the Storyteller side. The above timeline would put the Domain into Red Status before a new DST is elected, unless other measures are taken to arrange for DST reporting. Red Status is only a mark on the Domain's reputation; it does not endanger the Domain's existence.

At this point, the options are:

  1. Request an interim DST be appointed by the RST. This is a Domain decision, and so a referendum is required. The RST has stated that he will not force an interim DST on the Domain, though he is going to all-call for an ST to handle the position so that if Pittsburgh wants someone to perform this role, someone can be provided without additional delay. This option can be combined with any timeline alteration, since there would be an officer who would be responsible for Domain Storyteller reporting and other DST duties, moving Pittsburgh back into Green Status.
  2. Go through the election on this timeline, or a shorter one, accept that the Domain will enter Red Status if there is no interim DST. The Domain would seek to elect a DST who would be responsible for producing a report before the Domain enters Black Status. Black Status would mean that the Domain would be subject to potential closure at the option of the Camarilla Council, derived from their stated power to "Set or modify the geographical boundaries of any region, domain or independent chapter." as granted in the Membership Handbook. The ability to set or modify has previously been determined to include the ability to dissolve, as in the case of multiple Chapters and Domains since the implementation of the Handbook. Changing that interpretation would require a resolution from the Camarilla Council that would restrict them from having this authority.
  3. Delay the timeline for the election. With an interim DST, this doesn't harm Pittsburgh, except that the Domain Storytelling duties are handled by the RST's appointee, rather than an elected member of Pittsburgh, until the end of the election. Without an interim DST, this could put the Domain into Black Status for lack of reporting.

Those are the options. We hope to begin seeing applications for the Domain Storyteller position shortly, and hear from the Domain regarding an interim DST.
