Thank you for pointing this out; my e-mail didn't clearly distinguish factual assertions from personal opinion, and I appreciate the chance to clarify the matter.
Nowhere does the Membership Handbook specify a time frame in which an election must be held. It gives guidelines, but leaves officers with the discretion to set the exact timeline--a discretion you already used to postpone the application deadline.
In this situation, you were in the position of choosing between the Membership Handbook's recommendation that the application period be two weeks, and the domain's request that you postpone the deadline. You may feel that you made the right decision, and perhaps you considered our request at length in doing so, but it is a matter of fact that, in the end, you disregarded the Domain's request.
By contrast, it is a matter of opinion that I consider it unethical to repeatedly claim that you and others are strictly bound by vague guidelines, even in the exact circumstances that call for the discretion you have to be used, yet turn around and defend violations of the actual written rules.

You were not asked to cancel it, you were asked to delay the application deadline, something you have already done once.
