- Test average is 50% instead of 40% written on the syllabus you got in class today. Please correct it on the syllabus.
- Homework 1 is posted online. The due date is Thursday, September 9.
- Please note that in Homework 1, section 6.2, the problems are 8, 17, 18, instead of 8, 7, 18.
- Homework 2 is posted online. The due date is Thursday, September 16.
- The office hour of wednesday is shifted 1 hour ahead. It is now from 9:25 to 10:25 am. I oplogize for any inconvenience that it may cause.
- The solution of Homework 1 is posted online, next to the homework 1 assignment.
- Homework 3 is due this thursday Sept 23, instead of Monday Sept 27.
- Since we were not able to finish Section 6.5 today, the due date of homework 3 is moved to tuesday, September 28. You can still turn in your homework at the recitation on thursday, if you like.

- Test 1 is scheduled for this coming wednesday Sept 29. It will cover sections 6.1-6.6. The following problems will help to prepare for the test: Review problems from chapter 6, Page 380: 15, 23, 27, 29, 33, 37, 39, 43, 45, 49, 51, 53, 56, 57, 68, 79, 81, 87, 93, 95. While studying for the test, please don't focus on how to derive the formulae given in class, but make sure you understand their meanings, and when to apply them.
- Final exam, Date: Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Time: 8:30 - 11:30 am. Room: Will be announced later.
- Test 1: Average: 56/100; Median: 55/100; Highest grade: 92/100; Lowest grade: 6/100; Solution. The best 2 tests (out of the 3 tests) will count for your final grade.
- Test 2 is postponed to Friday October 29. It will cover Sections 6.7, 8.1-8.3. Review problems will be posted online by this week-end.

- To prepare for the Final exam, Study your notes, Redo the previous tests 1, 2 and 3, and Do some of the review problems of Tests 1, 2, 3, and Sections 7.3-7.4 on this page.
- Math 21-112 class is canceled this Wednesday December 8.
- You are allowed to bring a one-page (only the front page ) for the final exam.
- The final exam contains 9 problems: 3 problems from Chapter 6, 2 problems from Chapter 8, and 4 problems from Chapter 7.
