JOB PLACEMENT FOR CLASSES OF 2005 AND 2006
This list suggests that recently finance has been an attractive field, with computer science and business analyst positions next in line. It also suggests from the fact that graduates with several different varieties of our degrees find their way into computing and finance.
- One Mathematics graduate is doing stock equity research with Strawberry Investors Research.
- Four Operations Research graduates are analysts with Bank of America, Northrop Grumman, AC Nielson, and the Ford Motor Company.
- Another Operations Research graduate is with Booze, Allen, Hamiliton in Washington, DC, and another is in the final stages of security clearance to work for the National Security Agency.
- Four Operations Research grads are in finance: one with Barclay's Capital in North Carolina, one is an assistant trader with Goldman Sachs, the third is with Deutsche Bank global markets, and the fourth is with Bank of America in Charlotte.
- One Computational and Applied Math graduate is doing information systems work with Alcoa.
- One Mathematics graduate is with Google, and another with Green Hills Software.
- Among the Discrete Math and Logic graduates, two are in computer science positions at IBM, one is with Red Zone Robotics and plans to move on to graduate school, and one is a software engineer with Argon ST.
- One Mathematics graduate is an actuary with Central Medicare Services in Baltimore.
- One Statistics Concentration graduate is working for Ernst and Young, and another is working for the Bank of America.
- Three of the Computational Finance graduates are with Citigroup: One in public finance, one in quantitative research and trading, and the third is an analyst in their Tokyo office.
- Other Computational Finance grads are a capital markets analyst with Lehman Brothers, a trader's assistant with the Susquehanna Investment Group, a bond rater for Standard and Poors, and an assistant trader with Jane Street Capital.
