The Mellon College of Sciences policy on Advanced Placement might be of interest as might suggestions of what a student starting calculus should know..

Students planning to continue in Computer Science courses will need to take either 15-111 Intermediate/Advanced Programming instead of 15-100 or take 15-200 Advanced Programming/Practicum after taking 15-100.
