Projects with the Center for Innovation in Learning

This year I am working with John R. Hayes and Keith Weber on an evaluation of our calculus sequence. We are developing an exit test to be given to students as they approach graduation to see what they have retained from their study of calculus. We expect the results to have implications for the design of our courses and on our understanding of needs for calculus among curricula around the University.

I am also investigating the possibility of improving the transfer of calculus skills to courses in other departments by analyzing the way in which calculus is incorporated in other courses.
