Exercises: Due Friday 2 September 20 January. You
may turn your homework in during your lecture on Friday, or you may put it in
your TA's mailbox by 3:20pm. Please make sure your homework
includes the following:
Your name (on every page if you ignore #4.),
Your recitation section,
The names of those students with whom you have collaborated,
a staple.
Section 1.3: #2, 10, 27, 30.
Since the bookstore is sold out of the textbook, this week, the problems
are available as a pdf file.
Note: For 1.3.30, it is helpful to know that the kinetic energy is
T=(1/2) m v2,
where m is the mass and v is the velocity, and
V = m g h,
where again, m is the mass, g is the acceleration due to gravity and h is the
height above the equilibrium point.
