There will be a Review Session on Sunday, December 17 at 3:00 PM in DH 2210.

You are not responsible for applications to physics. However, in addition to the material from the
book, you are responsible for the material from lecture concerning applications to economics. In
particular you should be familiar with the notions of demand equation, revenue, marginal revenue,
cost, average cost, marginal cost, and profit, as well as how these concepts relate to one another.
For example, you should be able to start with a marginal revenue function and obtain the corres-
ponding demand equation.

You should know the derviatives of sine, cosine, tangent, inverse sine, inverse cosine, and inverse
tangent. You should know the derivatives of logs and exponentials to the base e. (You are, of course,
also responsible for knowing the derivatives of the basic algebraic functions.) You should know the
geometric properties of circles, rectangles, and triangles in the plane, as well as the geometric proper-
ties of recatngular boxes in space. Geometric formulas for other figures will be provided if needed.
You are responsible for knowing the values of sine and cosine at integer multiples of pi over 2. Values
of the trig functions at other angles will be provided if needed. Trig identities, the change of base form-
ula for logs, and formulas for the sum from i = 1 to i = n of various powers of i will be provided if needed.

Good Luck.
