Chapter 1 lays the ground work, with a discussion of functions and some properties that a function may possess.
Chapter 2 introduces one of the most fundamental ideas of advanced mathematics - the notion of a limit. The derivative of a function is then defined in terms of this limit.
In Chapter 3 we determine the derivatives of some common functions, and discusses the rules for computing derivatives of more complicated functions.
FInally, Chapter 4
gives a deeper understanding of the meaning of the derivative, and shows its
use in some physical applications.
