21-369 Numerical Methods Fall or Spring: 9 units This course provides an introduction to the use of computers to solve scientific problems. Methods for the computational solution of linear algebra systems, nonlinear equations, the interpolation and approximation of functions, differentiation and integration, and ordinary differential equations. Analysis of roundoff and discretization errors and programming techniques. 3 hrs. lec. Prerequisites: 15-100 and 21-259. |
