21-342 Linear Algebra II Fall: 9 units General spectral theory, invariant subspaces, canonical forms, duality and multilinear algebra, bilinear forms, quotient spaces, direct sums, tensor products, normal transformations in inner product spaces. Applications of linear algebra: Possible topics include combinatorics, coding theory, cryptography, differential equations, finite symmetry groups. 3 hours lecture. Prerequisites: 21-341 |
