Minors OfferedThe Mathematical Sciences minor:21-127 Concepts of Mathematics Notes: The pre-requisite for 21-355 Advanced Calculus I is 21-122 or 21-123. 21-341 Linear Algebra I is the recommended option for a student planning to choose 21-373 Algebraic Structures as an elective. Two courses with numbers less than 300 qualify as Electives: 21-229 Set Theory and 21-292 Operations Research I The Discrete Mathematics and Logic minor:21-300 Basic Logic (or 21-600 Mathematical Logic I) 21-241 Matrix Algebra To avoid excessive double counting, Mathematical Sciences majors must also take 21-365 Projects in Applied Mathematics. The pre-requisite for 21-370 is a course in probability and either 21-257 or 21-292. The pre-requisite for 21-420 is 21-370 and one of the following three calculus based probability courses: 21-325, 36-225, or 36-217. Also 21-122 is a pre-requisite for 21-260. Note that this is a correction of the pre-requisites listed in the 2004-06 catalog.
