Tim Flaherty
Assistant Teaching Professor ResearchAs mathematics lecturer for the Carnegie Mellon Action Project I am concerned with the academic development, particularly with Calculus, of our diverse student body. My main research interests involve wavelets, fractals, image compression, and tilings. Recently I have been studying Haar-type multi-tiles in two dimensions and potential applications in image compression. Selected PublicationsTimothy J. Flaherty and Yang Wang, Haar-Type Multiwavelet Bases and Self-Affine Multi-Tiles, Asian Journal of Math., Vol. 3, No. 2, pp. 387400, June 1999. |
