Title: Regularity of shadows and the singular set associated to a Monge-Ampere equation

Abstract: Illuminating the surface of a convex body with parallel beams of light in a given direction generates a shadow region, while projecting a convex body onto another convex body generates another shadow-type region. We discuss how the boundaries of these shadows may be used to study the geometry and Hausdorff dimension of the singular set arising in a free boundary problem associated to the Monge-Ampere equation. This represents joint work with Levon Nurbekyan.
