Title: Phase field models with nonlocal interactions and anisotropy

Abstract: I will discuss two phase field models involving detailed anisotropy. One is derived from the higher order terms in a Fourier expansion. Combinatoric identities and asymptotic analysis yield the Gibbs-Thomson-Herring condition for the interface.

The other also allows for non-local interactions. Using differential geometry techniques we derive the classical Gibbs-Thomson-Herring interface conditions together with additional formulations of the interface conditions.

These results are joint work with Xinfu Chen and Emre Esenturk.
