"Application of Bloch waves in Homogenization problems"

Abstract

In this talk, we discuss the use of Bloch waves in homogenization problems. Special attention will be paid to the problem of homogenization of periodic structures interacting with a potential. One way of dealing with it is to invoke the so-called factorization principle. In this talk, we focus on situations where this principle is not applicable.
