Weak Solutions of Semilinear Wave Equations

ABSTRACT: We show local in time existence of a weak solution to the semilinear wave equation with power-like dissipative and source terms, when the source has a subcritical exponent or its primitive is positive. The dissipative term is present through an increasing function of the time derivative.
