Irene Fonseca, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Carnegie Mellon University"Micromagnetics : Equilibria and Relaxation" Abstract
Minima of the energy for large magnetic bodies with vanishing induced magnetic fields
are completely characterized in terms of the anisotropic energy density and the applied external magnetic field . More generally, one considers an energy functional for a large ferromagnetic body of the form The first part of this work was undertaken in collaboration with Bernard Dacorogna and the relaxation results were obtained jointly with Giovanni Leoni.
